Great Scottish Swim 2018
On Saturday 25th August 2018 Emma Stanbanks, Senior Associate and Joint Head of the Care Team took part in the Great Scottish Swim in aid of our charity of the year, the Bodie Hodges Foundation.
Emma braved the bracing 15.6-degree water to swim a mile in picturesque Loch Lomond and raised over £600 for our nominated charity. Emma completed her swim in 55:21 minutes, a season’s best time by 7 minutes. This is the second time that Emma has taken part in open water swimming in order to raise funds for the foundation and last year she took part in the Great North Challenge which saw a team of cyclists, swimmers, walkers and runners transport a baton from the Leicester Royal Infirmary to Tallington Lakes where Bodie’s Boathouse, a peaceful getaway for bereaved families, is situated to Hadrian’s wall, where a team of walkers walked the length of the wall, before a team of runners completed the Great North Run.
Emery Johnson Astills first became aware of the amazing work of the Bodie Hodges Foundation when they sponsored the Not for Profit category in the Leicester Mercury Business Awards 2017, a category that the Bodie Hodges Foundation subsequently won. Since then Emery Johnson Astills have continued to support the excellent work of the charity.
