Leicester Pride 2017
Pride festivals celebrate lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) culture and pride. There are many LGBT events and festivals held throughout the country at different times of the year. This year Leicester Pride took place on Saturday 2nd September. There was a parade through Leicester City Centre culminating at Victoria Park where there was live music, entertainment and numerous stalls with fairground rides and attractions.
This is the third year that Emery Johnson Astills have been involved with Leicester Pride and you could find us amid festivities with our stall. Many members of the firm attended our stand and were available to talk to festival celebrators about the variety of services offered at Emery Johnson Astills. This event was extremely successful and not only did we meet numerous people interested in the firm and the legal services we provide but we also had an opportunity to catch up with previous clients of the firm who just wanted a chat.
Our staff love getting involved with Leicester Pride and we as a firm pride ourselves for our diversity and inclusion. We are signatories to the Law Society Diversity and Inclusion Charter and appear in the Stonewall Directory.
Emery Johnson Astills also sponsored the annual Unsung Hero Award which was presented at the Pride Ball on 27th August. This award is to recognise someone who has gone that extra step in the LGBT Community and who it was felt deserved recognition. The Award this year went to Anthony Marvin who set up a support group for young LGBT teenagers in Melton Mowbray.
Emery Johnson Astills offer a wide range of legal services in Criminal Law, Family Law, Care, Domestic Violence, Conveyancing and Wills & Probate and we have offices in Leicester, Loughborough and Coalville.
